Isn’t it nice to think of all the catching up you will do when summer comes?? I don’t even try to fool myself anymore! This summer we are looking forward to our July 4^th sale and something new – an August sidewalk sale! Some of you may have heard of the “scary room” in the basement. Well, it’s time to get in there and clean it out again! Come and join us at our Open House on June 4^th and check out our class samples. We are going to help the Vacation Bible School at Mountain View United Methodist Church. They will enjoy a week at “Camp Edge” (Experience and Discover God Everywhere) with an extreme sports theme. We are doing things a bit different this quarter – for a $3 donation, you will sponsor all the crafts for one child that week and receive 20% off your regularly priced purchases* during that time. (You are certainly welcome to sponsor more if you would like!) Miss Christy will be there with sample crafts and more info.

Did you know a fantastic group of ladies meet once a month at QE to make recovery bags for local Cancer patients? They need your help! You don’t even need to know how to sew! Anyone is welcome to help out with this great cause! Ask for details.

I’ve been talking about it for years but now it’s finally going to happen. After 17 years in business, it’s time to let go of some samples!! You will still have time to complete any unfinished steals you get to give as Christmas gifts. I have also talked to a couple of other businesses who will join us! Mark your calendars!!

RAINBOW OF HOPE

It’s coming - our 4^th Annual Rainbow of Hope Quilt Auction and Dinner to benefit Hospice of the Hills. I’ve heard of several projects that are completed already! Projects are due in to QE by October 3^rd and the dinner & auction will be November 7^th. If you would like to make a project in memory or honor of someone touched by cancer, there’s still plenty of time. Ask any staff member or check the website for details!! To date, we have donated almost $80,000 to Hospice of the Hills!!

SPRING QE CHALLENGE

Don’t forget your Spring Challenge!! We have 30 brave participants! Turn in the block and your instructions by Monday, June 1^st. We will start the voting during Open House and hope to continue online through that Saturday - if I get the pictures taken and figure out that whole computer thing! The top 12 blocks will make up our next block of the month program - the only one like it!! You will be published! Gift certificates will be awarded to the top three favorites.

Block of the Quarter update (BOQ):

Our Fall BOQ wall hanging will be available June 1^st! Bring your completed top and included backing to the BOQ class in September and you don’t have to pay! In the class, you will quilt and bind this project. If you completed the Summer BOQ class, we will include your batting this time as a bonus for completing two BOQ’s successfully! (There’s still time to grab your Summer BOQ and get it done in time for the June class!)

CLUB INFO

We will be continuing our Appliqué Club this Fall; they are continuing their work on Be Attitudes this quarter. Carrie is on the lookout for ideas so please share any that you might have with her! Also, the Be Attitude specialty buttons are now on the sales floor. If you haven’t purchased yours yet, hurry! I won’t be getting anymore.

Chris is getting things “rolling” with the Jelly Roll Club. Check out this month’s project, “Bars of Gold”! We will officially get started in the Fall – get ready to share your ideas.
