THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED WITH OUR RAINBOW OF HOPE QUILT AUCTION!! I am so proud to report that WE raised $36,000 for Hospice House this year – shattering our total of $25,000 last year. The quality of quilts donated was phenomenal as our judges, Neva Hart and Jill Jensen agreed. Congratulations to Lois Driskill, your Viewer’s Choice winner and recipient of the Wendy Haueter award donated by Fink’s Jeweler. The dinner provided by the Mountain View Youth was absolutely delicious, again – thanks to Pat Kuhland and Sharon Athearn for an incredible job! I hope to get a couple of the recipes posted to our website for those of you who have asked. Of course, the QE staff was front and center making the whole event happen. Also, this year, more QE customers offered their help in so many ways to truly make it a QE event – THANK YOU! Terri Layne, Hospice Volunteer Coordinator and my partner in over the top vision, came up with some new twists this year that allowed us to raise more money than ever in ways that allow everyone to play! It’s officially an annual event so if there is someone in your life that has been touched by cancer, take this opportunity to do something and join us in helping those who help our loved ones complete this journey of life with dignity.

What’s next? Come and join us at our Open House this quarter and check out our class samples - we are proud to introduce Karen Smith to our teaching staff! It’s our Christmas Open House and we are supporting the Bedford Community Christmas Station. Donate NEW child to teen sized mittens, gloves, hats or scarves and receive 25% off this time.

Don’t forget to ask for your raffle ticket for each $25 purchase starting that night and going through the month of December. This one is just too cute! It’s great to take to the market but it’s just a good looking tote bag to take anywhere.

February: Escargot Table Runner

This is a great two color project made from the Snails Trail pattern. It’s very graphic!

BLOCK OF THE QUARTER

This year, we are offering a quarterly project called “Seasons” by Christine Graf from Clothworks. Each quarter you will receive all the fabric necessary to complete a seasonal wall hanging that is 28 ½” x 40 ½”. Great for the front door!

The quarterly kit will be $40 with a limited number available. Bring your finished Spring wall hanging in by the end of the Winter quarter (February) and receive a free machine quilting/binding class in March to finish this project completely in time to display for Spring!

Get your Spring kit on December 1^st.

DEMO DAY! – New for 2009, join us on the fourth Saturday each month from 10:30-11:30 for an hour of free demos. Just stop by the classroom anytime that hour – you’ll never know who you might see showing us their skills. We want this to be things you want to see so let us know if you have any ideas!
